DPM Tea Banh confident Cambodian-Japanese bilateral military cooperation will be more active

The Deputy Prime Minister made the statement while welcoming the delegation of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force at Sihanoukville Ream Command on March 15.




DPM Banh said that the visit of the Japanese military delegation will further boost the Cambodia-Japan bilateral cooperation plan, such as the exchange of visits to young officers and senior officers, training and capacity building for the navy, as well as training for Cambodian personnel on high availability disaster recovery (HADR).

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the Japanese Navy will increase the number of Japanese Navy ships docking at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port to jointly train, improve capacity in disaster relief, counter-terrorism and humanitarian sector. The Japanese side will continue to provide equipment, facilities and professional training to the Cambodian peacekeepers.

On February 15, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet paid a visit to Japan to increase military cooperation between the two countries.
